On Wednesday, we made Mad Hatter’s Teacups with MGP. After we had washed our hands and set up the tables with all of the ingredients, we got a serviette and sat at our table. To make a teacup we got a Tic Toc biscuit and a marshmallow. We put icing onto the marshmallow and stuck it on the biscuit. Then we stuck a chocolate Freckle on top of the marshmallow. To make the handle we stuck a musk Lifesaver to the side of the marshmallow.

TA DA!!! We have a yummy teacup to eat! Before we could eat it, we needed to draw and label the teacup. FUN!  We were excited becuase we got to eat them.

Bye Bye pretty little teacups!

100 Days of School

Last Thursday all the Banksia students celebrated 100 days at school. We participated in lots of different activities relating to the number 100, such as making – a castle with 100 cups, a caterpillar with 100 body segments, a hat with 100 decorations, pictures with 100 fingerprints, badges and magnets celebrating 100 days, posters telling the 100 places we’d like to visit, 100 things we’d like to have and 100 things we would not like to have. We also displayed our special homework for the week and managed to eat 100 M & Ms – delicious!!!

Salaka African Drumming

We all had fun today watching ‘Salaka’, a West African drumming group perform. The students and teachers got to play the drums and dance to the fantastic African beat. We thought that dancing was the best and that you needed to have very strong hands to drum for a long time.
